I'm unable to connect my Playon! to my desktop computer. The initial settings were successful, such as hooking the player to my wireless home network. But when I wanted to browse for video files on my computer using the wireless NET feature, I was prompted a NET user ID and password. I do not know where to access, My Shortcuts, WORKPLACE, or My Neighbours. However each of it prompted a password.

What is my NET user ID & password and how do I obtain or go about doing so?

Please advise.

At the NET section of the DVR Browser option, "My Neighbours" is a quick way to scan for available PCs to connect to, whereas WORKPLACE is the detected Network name within the DVR wireless range.

For example, if I have four PC at home in this manner
Eugene PC (Computer name) -> Workplace (Network name)
Sister PC (Computer name) -> Workplace (Network name)
Mum PC (Computer name) -> Workgroup (Network name)
Dad PC (Computer name) -> Workgroup (Network name)

Our DVR will then list out
My Shortcuts
My Neighbours -> Eugene PC/Sister PC/Mum PC/Dad PC
MSHOME -> NAS (this is your own DVR contents)
Workplace -> Eugene PC/Sister PC
Workgroup -> Mum PC/Dad PC

When you connect to any PC, you will be prompted for a NET user ID & Password.
You can key in your own ID & Password and choose to save to My Shortcuts, so you can gain instant access to the shared folders without having to key in the ID & Password everytime you log on.

So now if I have set a User ID & Password for Eugene PC as above and have it saved to My Shortcuts, the DVR will now have an entry in the My Shortcuts section as follow.

My Shortcuts -> Eugene PC
My Neighbours -> Eugene PC/Sister PC/Mum PC/Dad PC
MSHOME -> NAS (this is your own DVR contents)
Workplace -> Eugene PC/Sister PC
Workgroup -> Mum PC/Dad PC
