TG is NOT looking at the video_ts. You can tweak this behavior by adjusting the "Skip folders/files matching this expression" (Options/Advanced Settings).
The default value there is vts_((?!01_0).)*\.ifo|video_ts.ifo

Dirk, the ThumbGen tool is a bit smarter than mediainfo. It is a mediainfo++ :grinning:

TG is looking inside .iso files (for both DVD and BluRay structures). The problem is selecting the "winner" file among the contained .ifo files. Seems there's no rule there so the results can't be perfect :(
For Bluray I get better results as I select the biggest candidate. Maybe I should do the same for DVD .iso... don't know...

okay i remembered in one of the first version of thumbgen this was not
the way and the iso files could not be examined to see what audio and video was used,
(if i am right that is ;) )

did miss the fact that you solved that issue,

or am i now way off and totally wrong?

however i guess then it would be best to scan the video file which is the biggest for that info,
i believe that is how you did it on a blue ray.

if again i am right.

;)

That's currently impossible. From TG's point of view we must live with analyzing .ifo/.mlps. Most I can do is to try to find the more relevant file for analysis.

or am i getting old and my memory is playing tricks on me

anyway all you have done sofar,
is far out great and again respect for you for live,

You are very right and your memory is (still) good :) I had no solution to read the bluray .iso files but now I am able to do that under Xp/Vista/7.

see and that is why I have fait in you ;)

so i can now stop unpacking these BD.iso files finally :)

no i still do so sometimes as you often only need the desired M2ts file,
and in that case it does save disk space.

;)
