Hello, I just bought ACR-HD51769 AluBoxDuo LAN 2xSATA2. I've read the forum posts but due to not-so-much spare time I could connect not the "clues" for the solution to my problem.
* I have 2 sata II seagate disks both 500GB
* My systems consist of two PCs on WinXP SP2 latest updates & WinVista latest updates both
* My network connection is done throught Router.

I have spent some time to come across the existence of the jumper in order to recognise BOTH drives. So the connection through USB works FINE. Now moving on to the LAN part the problem which occurs is:

"You have successfully registered the NDAS device. However, the NDAS device is not found and cannot be connected at this time. Please check the NDAS device connection" (i thinks it's pretty popular)

* I have installed Ximeta NDAS: v3.30.1602
* I used the keys directly from the PCB (they match the CD)
* Avast antivirus is off
* Windows firewall and spyware tools off
* Router firewall and intrusion detection is off (although it's for external connection)
* Tested it both on WInXP and Vista
I also checked using Ethereal Sniffer and I have seen that the device is sending a broadcast with it's mac address every 2-3 seconds, so the packets are reaching my hosts.
Any ideas?!?!
Thanx in advance!

Some posts suggest that there is a problem concerning Ximeta drivers and Linksys routers (possible when on Wifi access). I have generated the same problem using a D-Link router too.

@ generalacc

Can you try to check if the LAN cable is tightly secured to the device. There should be lights blinking on the LAN port when the cable is plugged in.

Ok at last the problem is resolved. I was using in fact XImeta drivers 3.20 over WLAN. After installing 3.30 everything worked fine. Just one last question:
Although in Ximeta's bind management I can see BOTH my drives, in windows explorer only one drive is mounted. Is there some configuration needed?

Hi,
If the box is not configured to work as RAID you can mount the two drive for you to see both drive appear. When RAID is configured you can mount any of the drive then it will do mount the other automatically to run as RAID.

Hi
I have ALUBOX DUO 2xsata LAN and ALUBOX DUO 2xIDE LAN with same problem.

Both models losing data, one disk fail and runing in raid1 emergency mode.
Problem causes the power source adaptor. After 1 year operation the voltage +12V unstable and not stabilized (poor produkt).
Solutions: Change power adaptor to any compatible new (+5V/2A, +12V/2A) and ALUBOX working without any problem.

:-)

Memo:
ALUBOX DUO LAN 2xSATA and 2xATA drivers (NDAS_3.72....) not WIN7 compatible. Frozing data transfer!!!, after instalation Win7 is slow and unstable. This is shame for manufacturer.
