 Re: Unknown hardware! The software can't work!
I don't want to create a new thread for this (please tell me if I have to do so).
I was bitten by the same problem yesterday. Unplugging the device from the main power unit and re-plugging it did the trick. Also if i turn the device on immediately after a shut down, it works. But if i leave it any longer, it throws me the error. Can't be a hardware problem, can it? because it works, but only on the second time. A hardware failure would mean that the device won't work every time. What kind of a hardware problem would cause a device to work on immediate restarts and on unplugging and re-plugging?
I recently upgraded via 3582 to 7317. All was well for a week and then this started to occur. Can't really blame the hardware I'd say.
Update: even if the standby time is a mere 5 minutes, I'm seeing the error. Unplug - replug is the only solution.

 Re: Unknown hardware! The software can't work!
prabugp writes that the problem began about a week after the firmware update. If it is a firmware problem only: why would it occur a week after the update and not immediately after the firmware update? why don't I have it, having used firmware 7317 since early February 2012? why has it not been reported by many other users? See robjg63's reply to this topic where it appeared a hardware problem indeed.

 Re: Unknown hardware! The software can't work!
Hi,
Just want to add that I have the same problem as Steve51184 and my model is A 73200P+.
Always gets "Unknown hardware!..." and need to unplug it to start.
So there is probably something wrong with some of these hardware.

@Zandon
I do suggest you try one more time and install firmware version 3875, after that installed 3582 then follow by 7317. Note that you have to use safe mode flashing in installing the mentioned firmwares. If the issue cannot be fix by downgrading the software then you might as well contact your vendor for them to confirm the problem and for you to know on how to get a replacement or RMA. Sorry for any inconvenience.

 Re: Unknown hardware! The software can't work!
Just to let you know that there are more users with the same problem out there: I have it too.. I have tested all versions after 3582 but all of them have the same problem with the unknown hardware. I have tested the upgrade path described above but it does not work.
And I believe it is a software issue too: - why would it occur a week after the update and not immediately after the firmware update? It occured within an hour after the upgrade - why don't I have it, having used firmware 7317 since early February 2012? Perhaps a combination with a specific hardware version? - why has it not been reported by many other users? On one hand because not everyone reports the issue or even tries an upgrade and on the other hand it may be a combination with specific hardware.
You must admit that it is odd that all versions after 3582 have this issue on our players...
But for me version 3582 is fine, although the GUI does not look that good, it still does what a basic mediaplayer should do, without errors...
