Switzerland’s top AV forum, AVguide, has just published a joint review of the Playon!HD and the Playon!HD Mini.
Although they do not give out awards, they found our products to be “exemplary”.
Our support and development teams should take a bow!

“Even when unpacking we collect first impressions - consciously or unconsciously – which affect our overall rating: Attractive, colour printed, informative box, ideal use of space, little packaging material, all necessary cables and batteries available, printed manual – all give a positive push for the inspection of the product itself.

Rapidly evolving devices should always be checked for firmware updates. Even in the browser do I find additional submenus and - what is particularly pleasing - both my hard drive partitions are now recognized. The Playon! HD mini is really a (nearly) all-rounder at the browser and can choose all the files that reside on the hard disk or local network (eg on another computer), it can automatically integrate into the library and, thanks to the search function, can easily be located.

Not least because of the large, well-labelled remote control is the use of the Mini absolutely intuitive. Certainly some key positions and sizes are a matter of taste, but by and large, the GUI is simply commendable. Particularly gratifying is the (still growing steadily) compatibility with many video, image and audio formats. Output quality in Full HD (1080p) via HDMI is simply brilliant. The Playon! HD mini delivers full HD video (1920x1080) in perfect quality, smooth video with synchronized audio. Impressive while listening to audio files and Internet Radio: after a (selectable) time, it uses a simple screen saver that displays next to the product name (if supported by the sender) Artist and track title. Such small things show the love of the developers to detail!

With the Playon! HD and the Playon! HD mini, AC Ryan give all the currently available multimedia players serious competition.
What is exemplary in the AC Ryan products is (and should not be underestimated), the customer dialogue, well-maintained customer forums and incredibly fast response to new developments and needs with new firmware.

The “secret” status of the Playon will not last long!”
