Post "Good quality / price ratio" at Lab 501 Romania
Hi all,

Leading hardware website Lab501 in Romania has just published a review of the Playon!HD Mini.
English summary below.

"Good quality / price ratio"

"The Playon!HD Mini can transform an external HDD connected via USB to a NAS and can play multimedia content on any device plugged into the network using UPnP client.

It can access Internet radio stations, and a number of other useful information such as weather forecasts, or information on the collection of movies or music downloaded using YAMJ. Probably one of the most important issues in the case of such a device is the user interface...we talk about a very pleasant experience to use, because the interface is created with feedback from users.

Using the Playon!HD Mini is a breeze, with very intuitive menus. Even so, after a few hours spent with the Playon!HD you will get used to the remote and menu, and it will be very easy to use and to configure the player. Beyond this ease of use, AC Ryan thought another option would not hurt to include to improve the lives of users. Yet Another Movie Jukebox (YAMJ) is a software with which we automatically obtain information from the Internet for multimedia files that we run with Playon!HD Mini.

We are very pleased with the Playon! series, and I think they offer all the options 99% of users will need. Strengths are very large number of formats supported, the possibility of integration into a comprehensive concept of the digital living room where the PC communicates wirelessly with NAS-media player, no problems playing HD content, and customer integration of YAMJ. Last but not least, regular firmware updates ensure constant improvement of the options offered, but also compatibility with any new version of codec, format, etc.

AC Ryan put great emphasis on interacting with clients and the constant support given to them. For example, in just three months using the player, I received by mail no less than three versions of firmware, which brought several improvements. Also, their support forum seems to be popular, a large number of tutorials and explanations are available there. Not least, a very important aspect for users is obviously price.

If you want a simple player to play any content (including Full HD) on a USB drive, AC Ryan's Playon!HD Mini is an affordable solution that offers a good quality / price ratio"
