Leading Norwegian technology news and reviews website DinSide has reviewed the Playon!HD Mini and given it their “Recommended” award!
They have tested numerous media players, with the Mini ranking as one of the very best.

“The whole thing is simple and functional. The Playon!HD mini has no fan, so it is quiet as a mouse. The list of features can be extended, depending on what comes in new firmware updates. Among other things, the ability to download Bittorrent files to a connected hard drive/memory plug-in is possible. After we installed the latest firmware on our test sample, we got a new-look menu and support for recording Internet radio was added as new functionality.
RSS feature is fun. Here you can connect to Flickr, Picasa, Weather.com, and various news sources like CNN and the BBC, and you can also add your own RSS feeds.

The format support of the Playon!HD mini really stands out compared to its competitors. This time, it’s only files with extension 3GP that are not listed. By changing the extension to AAC, however, they were listed and played without problems. In practice, we are talking about close to 100% format support, which is a new DinSide record! Sound and picture quality is also very good, but depends of course on what's playing.

When all is said and done, this is one of the better media players we've tested, and it gets a recommended product stamp thanks to the formidable format support, quiet operation and relatively low price”
