Post UPnP not showing twonky NAS DLNA server
Hello there, just got a new Mini2 box here, connected it to my home network with synology DS410 Nas server... This NAS is running twonky upnp DLNA server on it, but the mini is showing blank page when I try to list UPnP servers available on network. Any explanation for this? My Onkyo TX-NR708 and PlayStation3 have no roblem with showing up this UPNP server. I can connect to the NAS with cifs protocol.

PS: Actually it shows up the UPNP time to time, but it is more like game to catch the right moment than stable access...

Same issue for me. I have had to create a netwrok 'short cut' to my NAS IP address as a work around.

My original HD Mini sees my NAS far more reliably.

I think I managed to get my Synology to show under UPnP when I selected Windows File Sharing to be active (on the Syno).
My DS211 + only runs the standard packages, do UPnP is done by MusicStation, I presume, not Twonky.

My iMac is also a UPnP server, but that one never showed up.

My PS3 never had any issues showing either UPnP server.

My NAS is running Twonky.
Perhaps the Mini2 has an issue specifically with Twonky?

If so this should be fixed ASAP - there are a hell of a lot of poeple running Twonky NAS drives out there.

I am also experiencing problems with my Mini2 and a Readynas Duo with Twonky server enabled.
UPnP does not show any of my DLNA contentm, only an empty page...

I have tried this little thing which seams like the key to show the uPNP in the list... Changed the view from whatever it was (music, video, photos) to Show All files... after this my DS410 appeared in the list... also from nas my ID# tags are working fine even with flac files... but still there is the problem of gapless playback and also with my NAS dlna, there are no cue files listed, so if the cue files will ever work I will not be able to use them this way... So I prefere fixing all the issues which there are with network share browsing and playing and I will be happy just like that, since I have my entire collection pretty well organized on folder level... I really od not want any "Magic" Indexing and such things, which will in the world of Multimedia Boom never work for entire population the way it wants...

OK, taking back last reply, it was just another of those braight moments when the uPNP worked and showed it self up... now after several restarts of mini2 there is again no chance to get the uPNP server on the list. That is for sure an issue to be solved!

Post Re: UPnP not showing twonky NAS DLNA server
Has anybody got UPNP working?

I have tried so far with two ubuntu machines, one Vista Ultimate x64 machine and one Windows 7 Professional. All these machine can stream fro and back but the Ryan sees nothing.
I have tried running several mediaservers (Twonky, Mediatomb, the default Windows-stuff) and they all see each other perfectly well.
The RayonHD Mini refuses to see the other UPNP players (although very sometimes very suddenly and very shortly I once in a while do see one for a few seconds)
I can browse shares on other machines from the Ryan as well browse the USB HDD attached to the Ryan from the different machines
I can play content (actually very well)
I cannot use UPNP, the mediatheque and/or the movie jukebox.
I have static IP adresses for all the machines (same subnet), I have tried DHCP.
I wired all the machines, unwired them again.
I tried several WORKGROUP settings (workgroup, WORKGROUP, HOME, home)
Playing with the workgroupsettings I can populate ' my neighbours' at will.
NETBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled, SAMBA sharing is enabled (and verified working)

I am getting desperate here! Suggestions????

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?

greetings, a henrov full of sorrow

Post Re: UPnP not showing twonky NAS DLNA server
Hi

I am thinking of buying one of these devices to stream ripped DVD's from a Qnap NAS to my TV. I just looked at a manual here but see no mention of UPnP / DLNA. Having just joined the forum and spotted this subject, I too would be interested to see how folks are getting on with Twonky.

I've actually created custom Twonky trees for my Linn DS music system, but I'd use the standard Twonky containers for pictures and videos; I'd have to know if that would 'upset' this device before buying it. If it can handle Twonky, it looks to be a fabulous device.

I've got the acryan streaming via uPNP from twonky running on my readynas Duo. Other than it taking a Minute or two before it appears under upnp menu it works fine.

I think it's v6 I got from the readynas forums.
