C'mon guys. This is a joke.

The new GUI might look good to some ppl, but seriously you need a designer with a decent taste. Why do the buttons (play, stop, usb inserted etc.) have a grey background when the rest of the GUI has black? :?

Also I find it ridiculous that you're working on advanced features like changing the audio output (which is a fail, as now some of us has to come to the setup menu and change it between listening to MP3 and watching films), while some really basic features like the ability of making a playlist (my 8-year old mp3 player can do that, C'MON!) is still missing.

Back to r4312, and then probably to a different media player soon. :stepout:

Yesterday I upgraded to 3582 (just once) and it worked like a charm, no issues at all. This new firmware improved a lot on playback features (especially when I press menu it goed to the menu of the DVD, great improvement). However I still miss support for multiple skins in YAMJ, the default one is to boring and I want to customize some items in the layout. Secondly I still cannot understand that the mini cannot remember the location of the index.htm and have to look for it every time it runs!!! Major dissapointment.

Al considered I still believe the upgrade is worth installing.

Thanks to the developpers but still some work to do :)

Can anyone let me know when customized skinning will be supported and a fix for searching the index.htm file will be improved?

I second the hope for multiple YAMJ skins and index.htm location memory! With YAMJ working like the standard YAMJ on an NMT, this streamer would be the go-to economy streaming machine.

Thanks for the hard work! Looking forward to future updates.

I've just updated my POHD MINI from [BETA] PV73200 r4312 firmware to r3582.
Everything seems to work fine (dolbyHD really kick ass ;-)

Except that:
- when I play some video (avi or mkv, also divx) file, the image zoom from "100%" to "FILL" without pressing any zoom button!!!!!!
- I've got a video with borders..... so I MUST press the zoom+ button several times to go to "100%" and I have finally a video playing with no borders....
- if I don't use zoom+, I still have borders ans if I press stop, the video zoom from "FILL" to "100%" and the menu appears in 100%, no borders

I also test a lot of mkv files (720p or 1080p) of BRrip and there is no "auto" zoom, so no borders, so that's cool.

I can't find a way to force the "100%" zoom option.

I must say that I have a sony 1080p TV set on "every pixels" in the display menu

I've been having some serious speed issues acessing my Synology NAS over NFS.

I can see on the NAS (210j) what the don/upload speed is and when I stream video from it it tops out at around 1.3 MB/s. I thought it might be a problem with the NAS (it has Gigabit ethernet but that never means it can do those speeds) but copying a big file from it to my computer gave me speeds at around 40-50 MB/s so the NAS can handle it.

What this means is that using NFS (which should be faster than normal Samba) everything that has a bit higher bitrate is extremely choppy.

I do have the new beta firmware with DiskStation Manager 3.0 beta on it so there is a little possibility it is a compability issue but I am curious if anyone else is streaming over NSF and what speeds you get.

/B

I am so done with this piece of sh*t. I've spent the past four hours trying to first upgrade (which didn't work, all sorts of crashes, restarts etc) and then trying to unsuccessfully restore it to working order. I have waited and waited for HFS+ support, I was so excited for this update. Tomorrow I am going to go out and use this thing for target practice. I feel like I am stuck back in the late 90s with a temperamental windows machine. My friends have all asked me about the ACRyan box, and I have told them consistently to look at something else. I want something simple and easy to use (that goes for updates too), not an endless source of headaches.

I haven't included any specific information about the unit or what I've tried to do, because I am 100% done with this thing.

Vague information about updates and timetables, etc., from ACRyan... I should have given up much sooner. I am going back to using my laptop and good old fashion DVDs.

Best of luck to everyone else.

Agreed... which is why I asked if this is a quick fix or if they are actually redesigning the menu from scratch. I've given up on the browse menu and am using YAMJ with beta r4312 firmware as this firmware crashes a lot when searching for index files on USB devices :(

Hold the power button about 3 seconds. Your device start flashing again the new firmware. You need to flash 2 times for sucessfull installing.

P.S. After 2 installations of new firmware my device works fine. No bugs or crashes.

I have also encountered the same problems as others with the new r3582 firmware:
- Left and right arrow keys don't work anymore in movies
- HDMI output cant be turned of anymore
- I have now some issues when playing sound files (wav, mp3): there is now some kind of 'fade in' effect when starting a sound file, which means I miss the first second or so from the music which is really annoying.
- The pass-through issue with optical link which doesn't work for 2 channels.

etc.

I realize that using a new SDK for the Realtek chip means that whole parts of the firmware need to be rewritten, but the quality of this official release is below standards. This should have been a beta release at best and not an official release.

I am going back to the previous beta version and wait for a new release, because the r3582 release gives more problems than it does good.
