The last version works fine, my network is reachable and the ip preferences (ip, subnet, dns, and gateway) are correct, internet radio works great.

Today I got my playon!HD mini, and after some quick movie peeks (1080p looks great :D !) I updated it with the above firmware. Works and looks great, however I couldn't help noticing two things (bugs?), which I didn't experience in the older version (I believe).

- Italic subtitles in some video formats are displayed in their original sub formatting, e.g. ... This is somewhat annoying if you're watching a movie with a narrator ... I dont't know if this is due to this firmware update, or if it's a general realtek problem.
- When I stop a movie, and if I want to play it again later on, you get a textbox where you can choose to continue watching the movie or play it again. The box flashes for like 2 seconds and then the movie just starts over (without me choosing anything). Not that I would use that function a lot, but I noticed it :P

I've got to be honest; I'm disappointed with the new GUI. It isn't really a new GUI, just slightly different colours and a few new icons.

A.C.Ryan, can you confirm this is the new "interface overhaul" you talked about?

Lots of issues as well, such as the edges of the screen clipping off on 1080p and soft shadow boxes not lining up around the device list on browse :( I do appreciate that the main changes are the Realtek SDK integration and that the new GUI was an afterthought.

Hmm.. usually, I rush to install a new firmware, but glad I waited. Since I don't really have any issues with my current firmware, think I will stick with what I have.

No point in changing something that already works well for me...

Can anyone explain what the new SDK 3.x does that the old one couldn't?

How about adjusting the screen size? Or isn't that feature avaiable any more in the new FW?

I'm quite satisfied with the new FW so far. Good, that the green notification (Play/Pause, etc.) have been upgraded. The Volume control bar could still be improved, though. I still don't like the scroll bar in the main screen. I find it more confusing than helpful. I also liked the old loading animation better. Is the internet radio recording enabled on his FW?

To all those that say there's not much change/improvement compared to the last Beta: isn't that the point? You make a Beta and then it becomes official? For all those that don't go for beta FWs the new official one must feel like a totally new player.

Gtx,

Scuppa
