What's new in this release

- Thai

- Arabic(CP1256)

- Press MENU button during video playback to display navigation menu

- Press left or right button during video playback to jump to frames backward or forward.

- At Browser, filter by Photo and then navigate to the folder containing the media

- During music playing, pressing Next button will play the next track or Previous button to play previous track

- During audio playing, press the INFO button to display details of the media

Note:
Copy install.img to the root directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to the USB host port of the player.
Enter the Setup menu, System, System Update, System Upgrade and Enter to confirm.
Please wait for the flashing to complete until the Playon! HD restarts by itself.
Do not power off the unit during the flashing process!

The HDMI connection may reset after updating the firmware and may go out of sync with your display.
Press the TV SYS button on the remote a few times to sync with a compatible display mode if this happen.
Once the display is back, we recommend setting to HDMI Auto in the video setup menu unless a manual mode is preferred.

Please also take note of the following bugs, which are bugs of Realtek SDK and has been escalated to them for a fix.

**File copy from internal HDD to external USB HDD appears to be completed but it is only partially copied.**

**Sorry, let me rephase that... If you copy from Network to External HDD or EXT HDD 1 to EXT HDD 2, you may experience this issue as well.

Do my eyes deceive me....... The ability to skip fwd/back between tracks during audio playback :shock:

he he..that one is LONG overdue...

small issue with the above mentioned track skip feature though....when skipping tracks yes it does skip to next track and play it fine using the next/prev button but the GUI doesn't change to the next track and just leaves the original track highlighted on screen with a different track playing....

Unfortunately, I'm still having stuttering issues streaming BD.iso rips (via NFS). It's better than the other betas as the playback will resume correctly on it's own in a minute or two, but the dropout is still quite frequent. I guess I'll stick with r2956 for now as that one seems to work for me.

1. Where's the text encoding for the swedish language ??

2. Add Screen Saver timing selection (1 minute/2 minutes/5 minutes)
We already had that selection, we wanted more options 10min/15min/20min...

3. The beginning of mp3 songs, is still skipped.

4. Faster respond, when pressing up or down on the list.

5. It was talking about a new GUI...

well, better than nothing, lets wait another century for the next firmware

If you're asking about Auto text encoding...it has been removed. As the module wasn't even working properly the way it should. What i know is that it should work like IE/Web browser that automatic switch text encoding if you visiting foregin langauge sites.

Hrmm... Thru Media Library, filter under Music tag ? let me know again. Cause I tried it out, but didn't encounter that...

New GUI as mentioned by Harro, its in works... Its not a simple and easy task... the Main icons would be easy, its the internal browsing layout that is a "Pain in the arse" thingy...

Try switching to Music in the top bar first before palying music. This did the trick for me.

Thanks for the work on this firmware, I like the "show first picture in folder", simulates the album art function.
And the next/prev track when playing music.
Good to see the music funtions are getting more attention.
How about showing the picture in the screensaver with the track info ?

I mean:

1. When having subtitles like .srt and these letters Å, Ä, Ö aren't shown on the movie.

2. The mp3 beginning skip, is when entering Browser -> USB -> playing a song...

3. The respond is still slow, have a long playlist and press down/up example 10x, it will only do about 8x.
It takes like 0,3sec for the unit to understand after pressing a button...

Firstly, let me say this is a great device that I've been using since launch. Had updated to official r.2956 and the subtitle was a little buggy and a few files had some problems playing... but overall an excellent device.

Just updated to this new official r3875 and Samba is not working for me. Each time I try to activate it gives an error that it fails to start. In the previous version it was working but as mentioned a few times already, copying from PC to Mini did not work. Once again no biggie as I use the Mini to copy files from PC, but wanted to see if it works with the new version.

Any workaround?

I don't know if my question sounds dumb, but "Does this FW come with YAMJ" ?

I love YAMJ and am having so much fun with it on the last Beta (r3612 with YAMJ & Trial BT). I would want to upgrade to official r3875 and I would also want YAMJ.

Please let me know how do i get it working with the combination.

This firmware version doesn't come with YAMJ module.

The playonhd mini doesn't have a internal hhd !!!!

Hi

Just tried to enable the NAS setting, and I got a "failed" message. Also, the error message we spelt incorrectly (STRAT instead of START)

The network connects fine, I get the correct IP address. The NAS feature is something that hasn't worked for me (apart the beta 3615), so I hope it gets fixed in the next release.

I did it through System Upgrade, exact steps as the last official r2956.

Looks like another user has the same problem as me, at least I'm not the only one

Just curious - is there any difference to updating via system upgrade or safe mode? Is there a "correct" way of upgrading?

Useless feature as there's no torrent client in this firmware.

I cannot turn on samba either. Package update is missing from upgrade menu.

Going back to last beta, this was not the perfect at all, but at least NAS mode was kind of working.
