 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
I have tried today to upgrade from old v7.0.21.r3875 firmware version to latest. Unfortunately, NONE of the v7.4.6.rxxxx versions works with my HD mini.
System does install new version but, after automatic reboot at the end of the installation process, it stall during boot with A.C.Ryan logo on screen (I left it for 30 minutes, twice)!
I've been using both installation methods, and downloaded firmware from this (official) site.
Any help?

I found it myself. I didn't install v7.3.6.r3582 first.
Sorry

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
After upgrading and rolling back several previous versions I've now upgraded to the latest.
Good news is the Variable Frame Rate issues and subtitles in MKV seem to be fixed for me.
Picture quality on upscaled H.264 does not seem quite as good. Maybe not so much smoothing going on. I need to do some back to back tests with my second unit on the (very) old firmware.
One question I do have. On the old GUI I could slide show through movie sheets full screen by pressing the "slow advance" button on the remote when on a folder. Now all I can seem to do is view the movie sheets in a square a quarter of the screen size, while folder list etc remains on the screen.
How do I quickly cycle through movie sheets, so I can read the text on them, and pick a film I want to watch?

I press the Subtitles button on the remote and the subtitles are listed but selecting them does nothing. Can anybody offer any advice ?
p.s. The subtitles are working on my SD dvd rips which are stored on my NAS. Has anyone got bluray subtitles working at all with this firmware ? I see other posts saying that 'subtitles now work ok' but not sure if they mean bluray or sd rips.

Yes we can confirm that Bluray ISO and folder structure subtitle is working with this firmware version.

So does that mean I have to rip the whole disc to get subtitles working - I only rip the main movie with MakeMKV, should subtitles work for me ? Any other users of MakeMKV here ?

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r7317
First of all, thank you for the ongoing support and the release of improved firmware versions for the good old Mini 1. Especially the improved GUI response is much appreciated. I just upgraded the firmware to v7.4.6.r7317 via normal mode but couldn't see any change regarding the PGS support. Despite the claim in the changelog(point 9), PGS subtitles still don't work inside .mkv files. I tested several movies(e.g. video resolution 1920x812, PGS resolution 1920x1080, track compression 'none') per USB HDD and network. Is there any requirement for this feature, e.g. a minimal version of the 'mkvtoolnix' package? A working test file would be helpful. Btw. - Older firmware versions did already support PGS subtitles with .m2ts files and BD folder structures (tested with v7.4.6.r3966), PGS subtitles inside MKV container didn't work. Another issue regarding subtitle support is still unresolved: 'VobSub subtitles, wrong color'

This firmware is SO much better than the old slow one... I bought many Playon mini's, and am happy to know I've not been abandoned.
