Yea. Same thing happened to me.
I need to enter setup while watching move to select audio passthrough or LPCM multi.

For me, no improvement from 2115.

SIGH!

Like so many others I've been patiently waiting for AC Ryan to release this firmware but sadly I have found so many problems with it. A few to mention:-

1. NFS is still broken - only 1 NFS client can be established - the "Add client" menu item doesn't work.
2. Youtube login works so that your username is visible - but pushing "enter" on the name brings an error "Service_Unable" and the only option is "OK". Also how do you log out of Youtube?
3. Picassa doesn't work. Entering your login works but pushing "enter" only gives an error message "Finance_No_Picture". There is no way to enter a password. Also you cannot delete that login despite the fact that the screen includes "Delete ID".
4. I can confirm that the weather to UK doesn't work.

All in all this is pretty hopeless isn't it?

What a pity - but I have no confidence in AC Ryan any more.

For the record:

The SPDIF handling in this version is a joke.

Still there is no sound at all if Passthrough is chosen and the original sound is only two channels.

But the worst thing is that my receiver goes totally nuts when I have tried to play a two channel file (or a Youtube clip). First of all I have no sound at all, whatever file I try to play (that includes multi channel files). What's even more annoying though is the fact that my receiver no longer works without turning it off and then on again. How is this even possible?!

My receiver says that there is no DVD in the DVD slot. Well, it is. When I restart the receiver it finds the DVD.

These problems are totally new and came with a firmware that sadly wasn't checked before release. Strange when you think of the time it took to publish it ...

This is an official firmware release. Obviously it is full of bugs - again.

This is nothing more but a sad story that looks like a bad joke. :-(

Oddly enough for me this is the first firmware which finally made the network throughput between my ReadyNAS and Mini sufficient for almost anything. I had a throughput problem with every FW from the initially flashed r4624 up to now. The issue persisted even with the Med8er FW. Definitely something IS changed in the SMB client implementation. With r2115, the Mini showed no more than 2000kbps transfer rate and now with r3966 it is up to over 40000kbps. All HD content except the full-blown BD plays without a hiccup!
Good job AC Ryan! Hope that it is not done by mistake.

BTW. During the safe flashing, the screen shows wrong version - r4824. Stupid bug!

This should occur while selecting a folder with VIDEO_TS in it. Also, in the case i select a .vob i can't select a subtitle...

update 2 hours ago...i can confirm that "play folder" is gone.can only start a movie by choosing the*.ifo file
-can t find where to choose subtitles
-i use wifi to get my movies from network hhd, but sometimes it s not working...tansfer speed is 0 kbs !!!
-can t see where to select slideshow time duration for each pictures
-there is sometimes a little delay when using menu

-I like the new internet feeds with youtube
-the new interface is nicer

BUT i got back to the prevoius firmware until the new one is working better

After 6 months, this "initial" GUI 2.0 FW continue to disappoint. :( Setting audio to "HDMI Passthrough" downmix DTS-HD MA to stereo instead of passing the DTS core stream. DTS audio works fine though. I am using a AVR that only supports non-HD audio such as DTS 5.1 and DD 5.1.

Like r2115, this defect is observed in all the MKV and BD-ISO I have played so far. I have reported this defect for the last few FW releases. I am able to get DTS playback for DTS-HD MA when set to "HDMI Passthrough" using v7.3.5.r4415. This is the only version that works so far. All subsequent SDK 7.3 and 7.4 versions failed to passthrough correctly. Go check it out ...

I hope ACR can verify this defect and commit to patch it in next release. If this is a limitation, please state reason. As long as ACR does not address this issue, I will remain an unhappy customer.

That's a pity  For me it's not an option to upgrade my Mini, without DTS core when playing DTS-HD via SPDIF (stereo downgrade). Could ACRyan develop a seperate firmware for this, please :?: an audio HDMI firmware versus an audio SPDIF firmware or better a No HD audio version (with DTS core) and a HD audio version (with DTS HD core). Maybe this will also reduce multiple audio problems regarding the passtrough, because each firmware is specified for its own purpose.

Post Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73200_v7.4.x.r3966
I’ve reviewed the new firmware based on how the POHD Mini is used in our house – primarily to stream videos from a NAS, using the Jukebox, and secondly to stream music from the NAS, via the browser interface.
The overall look and feel of the new GUI is still great – and I much prefer this GUI to the SDK3 GUI. The GUI speed has noticeably improved over the r2115 beta. However, there are still a lot of issues, which I’ve detailed below, all of which have been reported before, by both myself and other contributors to the forum, and none of which have been fixed in this firmware release. The jukebox, in particular, is still dire, and a step backwards from SDK3.

The net result is, for me, the new GUI is still unusable, and I’m back to SDK3 r4824 again.

Firmware Loader
Still says r4860 just like the beta - I seem to remember AC Ryan saying this would be fixed in this release

Shortcuts
The perennial and much reported shortcuts issue is still there. Shortcuts are buried too deep in the menu structure, and still can only be configured to server name or IP Address, and not the actual share. As a result the Mini can see a lot of system and other folders on my NAS that I don’t actually want to share out to a media player. The GUI will still not index files on a NAS or other share if defined using a shortcut – the firmware is still focussed on USB disks, rather than network based shares. The Mini is supposed to be a network streamer.

USB Devices
The new firmware will still not see my USB memory stick on boot up if I simply turn off the Mini with the remote control and then turn it back on again. I have to turn off, reseat the USB stick and then turn it on again. This is a problem new to SDK4 firmware as I have previously reported, and seriously reduces the usability of the Mini, as I have to rely on volume mount points on the USB stick to make the Mini index the NAS based shares and see the jukebox files without a lot of unnecessary key presses on the remote.

Volumes and Volume Mount Points
The new firmware is still focussed on Linux ‘devices’ rather than ‘volumes’. As per the beta, it is possible to script creating a new directory in /tmp/ramfs/volumes, use it as a mount point for a NAS share, see the NAS based files from a Telnet session, but the GUI won’t see them, unlike SDK3. The only way to make the Mini mount NAS shares at startup is to create directories on a USB stick and use these as volume mount points. The new firmware will then index these NAS based shares as it sees them as directories on a local drive. Still, it’s a pain of the new firmware won’t see the USB stick reliably on boot up without a reseat.

Jukebox
No improvements or bug fixes have been made to the Jukebox since the beta. The Jukebox still insists on browsing for index.htm each time – why can’t this file be remembered? There’s an option in the GUI now to switch to another Jukebox/index file which can be used to reload the index as well.

The speed of browsing through the main Jukebox screen has improved, but, when you cursor right so that the Jukebox has to refresh the images on the screen to bring up the next few, there is a 2 second gap between pressing the button on the remote and the next two images appearing on screen. This makes browsing very slow and renders the Jukebox unusable.

The YAMJ categories are still not implemented (and they are in SDK3 firmwares), so you can’t go straight to new movies for instance.

Boxed sets and TV series, while visible from the main screen, do not work from the main screen. Going into a box set or TV series from the main screen simply brings up a blank page. Box sets and TV series are only accessible from the ‘Change Filters’ menu from the right hand most dropdown menu. Why? Who said this improved usability? It’s a huge step backwards. When drilling down into a TV series, and browsing around the season images, the season names do not appear in the title bar in the middle of the screen, making it harder to identify each series. Movie and TV Series titles in general are still truncated when displayed in the title bar in the middle of the screen, when there is clearly a sufficient space to display the whole title. There is still no ability to display the episode titles within each TV series.

Clock And Timesync
Still not back - you can't set the clock or timesync it - which screws up YAMJ if you happen to store the index / Jukebox on a USB drive plugged into the Mini

I previously rated the beta 3/10 – well 4/10 for this one as the speed has improved.

I hope AC Ryan read this and the other reviews of the new firmware and have the decency to engage with the forum users. There are a good few other well reported issues, with audio, and .iso files for instance that are long standing.

Letting people know which bugs are on the list to be fixed, and working with the forum users to fix the problems and improve the usability would turn GUI2.0 and the various players into market leaders.

Edit: - I've also send this article to the AC Ryan bugtrack mailbox

Audio functions are riddled with bugs.

I cant believe its this bad.

I will try re flashing and trying again.

DMR and upnp all wrong and seemed to screw up my NAS.

Need a bug list for sure otherwise a lot of people will be wasting their time trying to get this to work.

It appears that this feature is not supported when you play using File Manager. Try playing via Movies option.
