Me too... so far the 4824 is the best. I never had any problem. I dont like the new gui (2115), and please people..runaway from the mead8er firmware..it's crap. The original 4824 is far far better...trust me

I think everybody is aware it's an inexpensive media player - and with SDK3 based firmware it's quite a good one. The problem is lack of communication from AC Ryan, coupled with late delivery of just about everything. If they would talk to and listen to the users then it would go from being a good player to a great player

Two more player reboots when:

1. Try to play http stream via UPNP browser
2. Try to load .swf movie and press setup key

I'm creating flash based EPG so it’s important for me to fix this issues...

P.S. I will hope that more stable version comes before winter 8-)

First I want to say is that I'm very happy with my Playon HD Mini back on firmware v7.3.x.r4824.
I used firmware v7.4.x.r2115 for a month or so, but it is to sluggish.
So I would like to suggest to make a final v7.3 for the HD Mini, without the bugs like the italic bug in the subtitles.
Or a firmware v7.4 but without GUI2.0.
I even tried different Mede8er firmwares, but I still prevere v7.3.x.r4824.
:D

+ No more hardware errors :D (refer to SDK 3.x)
+ Can play virtually any movie in my collections (refer to old SDK, there is only sound, but no picture)
- Very sluggish UI (GUI 2.0)
- No transparent OSD
- No jump seek time (refer to old SDK, by using left or right button when playing media, in fact the buttons act like reply or skip button only with OSD  )
- There is no black shadow in the white subtitles, making it difficult to read
- Configuration on the subtitles are not permanent (Font Size always '20')
- NFS Configuration Problems
- Change File Manager view option to 'All-Media', making it unable to play music folder
- 'Home -> File Manager' must a first choice after turn on the device
- Company Logo, Product Logo and especially Product domain are annoying (please display it only at 'Home' / or just remove it)

Yes I find this one of the most annoying issues. With lighter backgrounds the subtitles pretty much disappear and are unreadable.

This is so important because many MKV-files contain SRT-subtitles. Is this issue recognized by Ac Ryan and is it going to be addressed in the new firmware?

Not to stir the pot any further, but do we know if there is going to be another firmware for the mini?

Well the audio issue introduced in the SDK3.0 deserves to be solved. And while they're at it there ARE some more issues that can be addressed right ;)

Is there any hope for new firmware with bugs free?

No, there will always be bugs, if those bugs affect you no one knows. For example bugs in the current SDK3 RC FW don't affect me, but there's still some annoying bugs that has an effect on some use cases in it. The same with other media players. Some bugs are more visible than others.

First of all I want A.C.Ryan to act like a serious manufacturer and answer relevant questions from its customers.

This is not the official support channel for AC Ryan. In case you want to have definitive answer you should email or call them. But I can tell you that Minis bought from a shop now don't have v. 2 FW
