Yes they are implemented in their "moviewall" functionality = when you press moviewall, the moviewall starts and it reads from network shares.
(No index.htm file hunting so it's kind of like a double bonus)

Have to agree that one of the worst things about the Mini is the 'missing' 2 or 3 seconds of audio and/or video at the start of each file playback.

The US TV version of Shameless has some pretty cool 'Previously on...' sequences that you never even get to see when playing back via the Mini.

Some of my observations:

Help banner section:

The CONFIRM key options do not exist in most selections except in Files manager.
BTW, 'Files manager'? The old 'Browser' was a more accurate name.

Options menu, MENU key (in Files manager):

Too many different types of options (multi tick box and single bullet select type) grouped together, need separating into groups.

MENU options open will also close again by MENU key. Same for SETUP key.
CONFIRM key options however need RETURN key to close (or changing an option).

Music, Preview mode:

Music files that play will make the help text in left side of help banner disappear.
Text will reappear after calling MENU options and closing it again.
Pressing Enter will restart the file but will also make the ID3tag info disappear.
ID3tag info too will reappear using MENU options open and close again.

Music files with a double digit track number will make the Artist and Album info appear in mirror display.
Genre and Year too, most of the time but not always (when not, genre showed a number in brackets).

Internet Media:

Video Podcast, says Video Pocast inside.
When inside Video Po(d)cast, opening and closing SETUP will leave the Setup thumbnail intermixed with the Video 'Pocast' thumbnail.

YouTube.

Illogical dual plane navigation, yellow text in left plane apparently signifying that right plane navigation is active (?), however selecting left plane leaves right plane still selected in white which is confusing.
Navigation very slow, missing/ignoring repeat key presses.

Shoutcast Radio.

Like with YouTube very slow navigation and missing/ignoring repeat key presses.
Left-arrow=next right-arrow=previous is counter intuitive.
Had it hang once, still playing but not reacting to remote control, and once reboot while browsing in first session after upgrade. Have not been able to repeat both cases since.

Firmware image:

In breaking down the firmware image I noticed that there is about 50 MB in duplicate files, out of 300MB decompressed. Lots of work there to free up some space.

MAJOR BUG Report:

• No Access to NAS-Function since smbd not running (nmbd runs although).

Steps already tried:

• Switched Samba Share On/Off in the GUI for several times - didn't help

My network setup is correct - telnet access to playon is working, so I sniffed around a bit:

Haven't ever tried any of the more advanced features but just had a look at that and must say navigating via my laptop is much more responsive than using the remote! Annoyingly I can't seem to find a keyboard layout for searches on youtube etc
