Hi To answer sambuccashake's questions
1 - Can you now save your "network path" so that you don't have to manually navigate all the way to the NAS every time you want to use it? - No, not in this release, possibly in the forthcoming release with GUI2.0 2 - Full YAMJ support and custom skins? - No, not in this release, possibly in the forthcoming release with GUI2.0 3 - MKV issue sorted out? - Compatibility with compressed MKV headers is much improved

I also get the unknown hw error with this firmware. I however never use the USB or Optical cable. The only connected cable is the HDMI and UTP (and off course the power cable ). Error happens only after the system wakes from standby. And will only work after i remove the power supply.

Oh no! I've just ordered one of these to replace my Hisense MP800H that cripples the HDMI CEC on my AV setup (Onkyo TX-SR508, Sky+ HD, Panasonic Viera TX-L42D25B). Do I need to cancel my order? Is this a firmware issue or a hardware issue ? If this is a firmware issue when can we expect a fix? This is a MAJOR fault. I really don't want to be modifying HDMI cables. I look forward to some good news. Mods! Unfortunately the only reply I received addressed only my first question. Is it expected that the HDMI-CEC fault will be fixed with a forthcoming SDK4 release? I can now see that some people are losing patience but I understand that Realtek are probably the ones dragging their heels here. My main reason in choosing A C Ryan is the level of Support. I've had bad experiences with various products from major global players this year; I hope to do better here. BR/ Ian

Hi Unless the mods have some advance info they've not yet shared with us, then there is little info so far as to exactly what is in the SDK4 firmware release, apart from GUI2.0 We're all waiting for some detailed info from AC Ryan's developers, which should be in the next few weeks.

I'm assuming (rightly or wrongly - perhaps someone can confirm) that SDK4 is a Realtek 'toolkit' release that the developers use to build the POHDM firmware. A fix for HDMI-CEC and optical audio may not necessarily make it to the next POHDM release but SDK4 will be around for a while and be used in a number of POHDM releases, I suspect. (My query was "...a forthcoming release", not "...the forthcoming release"). I would hope that the developers would, by now, know one way or another whether these long-standing issues will be fixable using SDK4. Should I be asking these questions in a different forum (not specifically r4824 related, after all).

 Re: [Release Candidate] ACR-PV73200 v7.3.x.r4824 Playon!HD Mini
I bought a Mini 3 weeks ago. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. So I do not recommend anyone to buy this product until the new GUI shows up. The question is if the new UI just is a new GUI or if it also will take care of technical problems to meet up to technical specs? We will probably know in february-march-april of 2011. Until then, just wait and follow this forum. Sorry ACR guys! -Henrik

I also got this 'Hardware not known, cannot function' error... I unplugged the digital audio cable, and unplugged the power supply, waited 10 seconds and plugged the power supply back in, then I didn't get this message anymore. I replugged the digital audio cable, and it still worked fine. I'm not sure it's a problem with the digital audio cable. Because right after the flash-update it could boot without any hickups. I also think it's rather something with the standby back to live mode.
I hope this helps you a bit by investigating the problem.
Oh yes, I tried copying a large file, from my Win7 machine to the PLAYONHD, and now it seemed to work without any hickups.

BR/ Ian sadly on the hdmi-cec issue there is no solution yet. however if you set the hdmi-cec control off in the attached devices there is no problem with the player if it uses the hdmi connection. see my siggy i also use a onkyo and various other HDMi devices, and have no problems with the hdmi-cec issue cause i don`t use it. i have switched it off. as it mainly let`s me switch off the other devices attached in the hdmi setup. well for that i bought a Harmony one (i also use the harmony 525 in a other room), and this works far better then the hdmi-cec control. but i understand the issue. however it is possible to just use the player with an hdmi connection, just in some situations it is best to switch off the hdmi-cec on the other devices, if that is okay with you then there is no need to manhandle the hdmi cables but it is what you find most important i can`t decide that for anyone, just can give the state how it is at the moment. again sadly i am not aware, if and when this will be solved.

Nasua I have no router, my PC is connected directly to POHD using a network wire. I did the following: 1) POHD's static ip is 10.0.0.2: Code: ping 10.0.0.2 Pinging 10.0.0.2 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 10.0.0.2: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64 Reply from 10.0.0.2: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64 Reply from 10.0.0.2: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64 Reply from 10.0.0.2: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64 2) I opened a IE window then tried (unsuccessfully): Again please notice that I can copy files from my PC using POHD's copy function. Any other idea ? Yesterday I tried again to access \\10.0.0.2\usb1 (POHD mini share) with no success. Today I've got back from work and did the following: 1) I put Ubuntu 10.10 bootable CD into the PC's DVD player while PC was just starting 2) I configured the static 10.0.0.1/255.255.0.0 ip/mask for my PC (with Ubuntu as OS now) 3) I started POHD mini and the TV but I didn't switched the TV to HDMI 4) I accessed succesfully \\10.0.0.2\usb1 5) I restarted Ubuntu and ejected the Ubuntu CD while PC was restarting 6) PC restarted with Win XP (same as yesterday) and after log on I accessed succesfully \\10.0.0.2\usb1 7) I started a movie with POHD and TV connected with HDMI 8) Still can access with Win XP the share \\10.0.0.2\usb1 so I'm in good mood again POHD behaves really strange.

 Re: [Release Candidate] ACR-PV73200 v7.3.x.r4824 Playon!HD Mini
On the mini with this upgrade installed.
Problem: Each time i turn it off it seems to lose all the settings. When i restart I need to select the language, then the connection. Everything works, then once watched a movie or the like, I turn it on. When I turn it back on I am faced with the language slection screen again.
This didnt happen post the upgrade. Does anyone know how to resolve pls?
Thanks,
