Here's the past few days' introduction of the new contestants...
25 Nov 2005
phase3's PHASE3 project on hwupgrade.it is certainly worth checking
out - cable management a la italian design.
16 Nov 2005.
zeero
is re-resurrecting a Kaypro4 on Pimprig.com. Why re-resurrecting?
Well it's been resurrected and abandoned before by noneother than
TheGreatSatan
(also a Contestant here)... go check out
zeero's re-resurrection ;)
anoncompboy is doing his 1st custom build mod on Pimprig.com and
it's a wood case - we like variety!
dark magic ninja is turning a 1/2 price metal file case into DeWalt
Machine on Pimprig.com. 3 Pimprig boyz in a row!! puts Pimprig right
into 3rd spot (just pipping WizDForums by alphabetical order - both
has13 worklogs each in this Contest).
picio's Blizzard worklog is based on AC Ryan's acrylic casing -
interesting mod! He puts ModdingPlanet.it in the Contest (finally).
sik used AC Ryan acryplanels in his The Punisher mod on Exclaim.de
Forums! cool. Use of AC Ryan products is not a reuqirement in the
Contest... we're just happy (as always) when we see our stuff being
used in mods... it's souldfood that keeps us going. ;)
6 Nov 2005 It's
a Norwegain party arriving -
Marius_EV,
Klikka_bZerk,
DJ Ovin,
Caliber are up on the Contest today. With this little party, Norway
jumps up to the 4th position right behind USA, Netherlands and UK.
It also enters Diskusjon.no into the Top10 forum list at postion
10, puts Norwegian at no.3 in the list of Contest worklog languages.
Marius_EV has his Lian Li PC6277B "Fan Controller" worklog
in diskusjon.no (Norwegian) as well as bit-tech and xoxide forums.
Klikka_bZerk's Project Black Pearl is on discusjon.no and bit-tech.
DJ Ovin's Project Black Diamond is on diskusjon.no. hmmm is it a
coincidence the diamond and pearl? ;)
Caliber's ALUminous on diskusjon.no wraps up this little Norwegian
party - we sense more norwegians coming to join the party heheh.
4 Nov 2005
whore has got a worklog on Pimprig.com (lol whore on pimprig ;p)
- it's his 3rd worklog of his lian li PC90 mod to join the Contest
(after the ones on gameplanet and bit-tech). It seems like [H]ardForum,
WizDForums and Pimprig are having a mini-party of their own in the
3rd, 4th and 5th positions ;). O yes!!! our first Canadian Contestant
has finally found his way here.
bawX is getting creative with wood in his project aptly titled woodie
- worklog's on Coolercases.co.uk.
duffman joins the Contest with bandpass on WizDForums.
woosh our first Contestant from Estonia joins the Contest with Liquifire
on WizDForums, lots of fiery flames and lots of water ;).
We just realised the 100th Contestant
is already in... we've so far put up 85 Contestants on this Contest
site so still more more more logs to read up on and get em up here.
Dont you think the 100th Contestant deserves a "Not-So-Random
Prize"? Well if you've signed up for the Contest and your worklog
is still not up here yet, there's a chance you are the
100th Contestant!!! ;) have some patience, let us read the worklogs
and the 100th Contestant will up here within the next couple of
days! Watch this page!
3 Nov 2005
kratos joins the Contest with Project BloodRun on Pimprig.com -
it's his first mod - let's give kratos a warm welcome to the world
of modding!! ;)
lbreevesii does a Quake IV box! every gamer, gaming team, gaming
site is talking about Quake IV - cool that us modders are picking
that hype out too. Well I guess soon we'll have the 999th Quake
IV mod but for now it's still fresh and new... enjoy
lbreevesii Quake IV box worklog on WizDForums. Will Steve Jobs be
impressed with
Fanatik's mod to put a PC into his G5 and shrink it down to a mini
sized form factor? check out his miniG5ized on Sudhian SFFTech Small
Form Factor site. Oooo another small form factor mod - this time
it's
kivela's Shuttle SN85G4V2 modded with AC Ryan on Casejunkies.
2 Nov 2005 We
start the day with a familiar face -
frodo who's adamantium mod is going pretty nicely with 3 worklogs
adds a 4th to this Contest - this time on Coolercases.co.uk.
TangoDelta is the first contestant from Poland - welcome TangoDelta,
welcome Poland. His worklog of Hextreme Fusion is on the very active
polish forum Night-modders.com.
1 Nov 2005 We've
been distracted / busy with this the past week - a concept we tried
out in Netherlands - Masters of Modding event.. live modding by
3 teams over 2 days. Trying the idea of speedmodding as a shortened
offline / real-life brother of worklogs. Worked out very well, in
our opinion. check it out here
(AC Ryan news in Netherlands), here
(Day 1), here
(Day 2) and here
(End result + voting). Back to the Great Worklog Contest... in the
meantime, we have opened the Contest
Gallery and put up photos that we've asked you to send to us.
Click on the image to get the larger 800x600 view. At the bottom
left you'll see the project name and at what % completion the modder/worklogger
himself (or herself) think the mod is at. Hope the gallery will
give you good idea of what the projects are like.
And now. on with the new entries...
American
Freak joins the Contest with a Star Wars AT-AT Walker mod on CaseModGod.
Hmmm it'd so be cool if one day, the AT-AT Walker mod and TheGreatSatan's
R2D2 Mod (also in the Contest) can stand next to each other ;).
Mashie
from Mashie.org forums has got worklogs of his Project Ione on Mashie.org
forums as well as [H]ardForum. With that the [H] guys squeeze into
3rd place past WizD Forums by alphabetical order since both has
10 logs each in the Contest. Another project worklog from
Mashie - this time it's a trip down memory lane with Project Time
Machine - pretty cool idea and what a nostalgic trip - those were
the days! [H[ardForum's on a roll...
CC Pirate's Making of Stryker II consolidates [H]ardForum's 3rd
position with 11 logs.

Infinity Custom's Chopper PC Part 2 switched from Bit-tech to [H]ardForum...
so that's -1 for Bit-tech, +1 for [H]ardForum... are those [H]ard

reading through another 93 page thread... once we're done, it'll

clear top 2 of USA & Netherlands.
1 Oct 2005 You
guys know the Project Lament? also known as Hellraiser Cenobite
PC... yes the one that won Quakecon 2005 casmod competition. (I
have to say that though I love the mod, those eyes just freax the
bejeezes outta me). Anyway, bad news that it's sustained some damage
- you can read about it in the log. So there's gonna be some repair
work and at the same time some new work will be done!! YES!! Great
Worklog Contest welcomes ARTbyTROY's
Project Lament : Hellraiser Cenobite PC on CaseModGod.com. Now over
to Belgium... joining the 1st Belgian contestant
SteveSalens, our 2nd Belgian entry
jellabie's pc/terrarium is also a casemod competition winner (yes,
read the log), more work is gonna be done on it too. Can great mods
be Great Worklogs too? Calling readers... active readers wanted!
OK, upped the last 2
Tribaloverkill's worklog - so all 6 are up now - believe it or not,
he's updating all 6 worklogs and actively interacting with the readers
on all 6 of them - talk about omnipresence! :)
Hope you have enjoyed the worklogs.
Some do really read like a good book huh? One that you can barely
put down. The mishaps, the waiting for stuff to arrive, the "personal
injuries", getting down on your knees, the blood & sweat,
modding in the garden, modding in the backyard, modding on the bed,
modding everywhere... Amongst the hardwork, dont you feel the joy
and laughter too? Got irritated by some flaming too? (that's life
eh?!). Saw some great friendships in there... sure feels good to
feel that modding spirit. The open sharing of information, explanation
of techniques, checking out new material - no secrets - pure, open
and straight up. We'd like to express our appreciation to all workloggers
for that. While the "galleries" show off the mods in its
best completed shape (the glamour show), the "worklogs"
captures the real work (the real people) and brings forth the true
modding spirit of the community. We've picked the photos on this
page to honor the hardwork behind the mods. The beautiful sweet
results will soon make it to the sweet wow-wow glamour show - the
"gallery" - here the worklog is about the planning, the
tools, the techniques, the personal stories - did you read about
psu sleeving with one hand in a cast? No pretense, no photoshopping...
real people and real work. Good luck - keep on modding & logging!
